Dean's Scholarship

The Dean's Scholarship was created to enhance the undergraduate academic experience for new first-time and transfer students enrolled in a major within the College of Arts & Sciences. It is a merit-based, renewable scholarship of $1,500 that can be "stacked" on top of other awarded AU academic scholarships. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in unique academic communities with a focus on career coaching and preparation.

Student Competitions

Math and computer science students participate in a number of competitions.

The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest is the oldest, largest and most prestigious programming contest in the world. It’s a multitier, team-based programming competition headquartered at Baylor University. A global network of universities host regional competitions that advance teams to the World Finals. Participation has grown to tens of thousands of the finest students and faculty in computing disciplines at almost 2,000 universities from more than 80 countries. The contest fosters creativity, teamwork and innovation in building new software programs and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure.

The faculty advisor for the group assists students in preparing for the Association of Computing Machinery competitions. The group also meets every two weeks for socializing and fun. All students are welcome; there are no membership dues.

This group is open to all Ashland University students and meets regularly throughout the academic year to discuss and attempt to solve mathematical problems posed in scholarly journals.

The Ashland University Cybersecurity Club is a student-run club with the goal of expanding cybersecurity knowledge and skills through hands-on experience and interaction with professionals in the field. Members gain valuable experience that's useful for interviews and jobs. The club is open to all AU students who are interested in cybersecurity.
